Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit – How to enable or disable Windows updates
If you all day in front of the computer a good practice would be to turn off windows updates and update just once a week so will not mess with your work flow
Click on start then on CONTROL PANEL menu, click on menu WINDOWS UPDATE (you can only see this right away if you set to view small icons)
Click on link CHANGE SETTINGS, on the next screen click on menu IMPORTANT UPDATES and select NEVER CHECK FOR UPDATES and click button OK
Remember, once a week to go back there and set it back to check for updates, its important that you update regularly
